Brand: House of Finn Juhl

Designer: Finn Juhl

When Finn Juhl established his first studio at the exclusive address of 33 Nyhavn in central Copenhagen in 1945. he designed a very simple desk with burnished steel legs. a detail which came to shape his furniture design during the 1950s. When Finn Juhl moved his studio to 38 Sølvgade in 1957. these same tables were still used.

Finn Juhl is known for adding visual lightness to his designs. and the Nyhavn Desk is no exception. When he designed the Nyhavn Desk he was inspired by the simplistic designs of his American counterparts. in particular Charles Eames. However. his sense of functionality and detail is what adds real character to this piece.

Frequently asked questions

Why are your lamps so affordable?

All our lamps come directly from European design showrooms and exhibitions — genuine display or sample pieces, never replicas.

Because they were previously used for gallery or studio display, we’re able to offer them at significantly reduced prices compared to standard retail.

Each piece is carefully checked, cleaned, and tested before being listed.

Our aim is to make authentic designer lighting accessible at fair, honest prices.

Do the lamps have any signs of use?

Some display pieces may show light wear, such as small surface marks or minor scratches on the base.

These are purely cosmetic and do not affect performance.

Any visible details are always noted on the product page.

Every lamp is inspected, cleaned, and securely repackaged before dispatch.

We believe in full transparency — what you see is exactly what you receive.

Can you provide real photos of the lamps?

For some items, yes — we can provide actual photos on request.

However, lamps stored in sealed warehouse packaging may not always be available for additional photography.
