Basus Light is a British lighting retailer dedicated to making timeless design accessible through carefully curated display and showroom models. Founded by lighting specialist Martin Basus with over 15 years of experience, we combine craftsmanship, transparency, and a deep respect for original design.

What We Believe

From our early workshop days in Glasgow to today’s online store, our purpose has remained the same: to give authentic designer lamps a second life and help more homes enjoy great design at fair, transparent prices.

Lamps with History – Brought Back to Life

Over the years, we’ve built trusted relationships with leading European design houses and showrooms. Many of our lamps are genuine display or exhibition models that once illuminated galleries, studios, and design fairs. Each piece is carefully inspected, cleaned, tested, and prepared for its next home.

Some items may show subtle traces of previous display — small, honest marks that speak to authenticity, craftsmanship, and longevity. At Basus Light, we believe design should be honest, sustainable, and accessible.

From Glasgow to Our Customers

In 2025, building on the foundation of our original Basus Home brand, we launched basuslight.co.uk — a renewed platform that brings our curated selection of display lighting to customers throughout the United Kingdom and beyond.

Our warehouse and operations remain based in Giffnock, Glasgow, where every order is personally checked and hand-packed — continuing the same craftsmanship and attention to detail that defined our early workshop days.

Even as we’ve moved online, our values haven’t changed. Behind every order, there’s still a person who understands light, materials, and Scandinavian-inspired design. For us, selling a lamp is never just about illumination — it’s about atmosphere, emotion, and the story that continues to shine.
